From all reports, the Lord incredibly blessed our Singles Retreat – CAUGHT UP TO PARADISE – at Catalina Island and our Campus Retreat – ELEVATE – at Camp Whittle up in Big Bear! A very special thanks to Chris & Sonja Chloupek for overseeing our Singles Retreat, and to Tyler & Shay Sears for directing our Campus Retreat!
The CAICC Singles are CAUGHT UP TO PARADISE!
240 Campus Students gather in Big
Bear to spiritually ELEVATE!
Also, on Wednesday was our monthly ICCM Planning Session with Michael Kirchner (Chairman of the Board of Regents), Chris Adams (Vice President of the ICCM), Elena (Dean of Women), Tim Kernan on Skype (Dean of Operations) and me. Many exciting opportunities were discussed! Perhaps most importantly: We are formally announcing that in the ICCM there are "four tracks" into all three degrees – Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate: Ministry, Shepherding, Administration, and MERCY. Also, all formal requirements have been solidified for our Master's Degree. Please keep us in your prayers!
The Jerusalem Cross represents taking the gospel
"to the four corners of the world!" Inscribed on
the crosses are the four tracks to
receiving ICCM Degrees!
Lastly, the Spirit continues to add more than daily to our numbers, as this week He gave us seven baptisms and two restorations! Praise the Lord!
And now more detailed and refreshing reports from around LA…
Chris Chloupek of the AMS Region: This weekend we had a blast as many of our Singles went to Catalina Island, which is about 26 miles off the coast of Long Beach. The retreat was aptly titled CAUGHT UP TO PARADISE! We had fun snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, playing volleyball, ping pong and other activities! We watched a movie on Saturday night and then had a bonfire on the beach!
The CAICC Singles are fired up to board the ship
to Catalina Island!
We heard a very open and humble lesson on STAYING IN PARADISE by Joe Brown & Morgan Martin. They shared about how we must walk in the light to stay "in paradise on earth" with our Lord.
Joe & Morgan preached the Word on
STAYING IN PARADISE!
I preached about FINISHING THE RACE TO PARADISE. Everyone went home thoroughly encouraged! (Go here to hear the awesome sermons from the retreat: http://bit.ly/1cMLgwG)
The 70 that participated in the Singles Retreat
have returned home to help each other
FINISH THE RACE TO PARADISE!
Special thanks to Ryan & Iyonna Keenan and my lovely wife Sonja for all the help and support they gave to make this retreat awesome! Also, special thanks to Jason Bond for preaching the Word to the AMS Region in my absence! There's no business like "soul" business!
Chris Chloupek is so appreciative of the efforts
of Sonja, Iyonna & Ryan in making
the retreat unforgettable!
Tyler Sears of the West Region: "From the ends of the earth I call to you… Lead me to the rock that is higher than I." (Psalm 61:2) Greetings from the 2013 CAICC Campus Retreat, simply entitled ELEVATE! Over 240 campus students from Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego came together at Camp Whittle on Big Bear Mountain for our annual Campus Retreat! It was by far the most impacting Kingdom Event I've ever been to as I was moved, several times, to tears as I saw so many young leaders ELEVATE and do amazing things!
Friday evening started powerfully as the singing was electric and there was a buzz in the fellowship unlike I'd ever heard before at a Campus Devotional! Richie McDonnell who, with his amazing wife Elizabeth, will be planting the Santa Barbara International Christian Church in January 2014, preached the best lesson I've ever heard him do as he challenged us to ELEVATE! No Matter Where You're At!
Saturday morning started with all the campus students waking up at 7:00AM to pray with one another – each disciple prayed with someone they didn't know in their cabin!
Camille of Las Vegas pleads with Olimpia
of the West Region of LA to go on
the 7AM Prayer Walk!
Then, we broke into Men's and Women's Workshops and heard God's Word powerfully proclaimed through young leaders! Five charges were given on the topics of ELEVATE! Your Evangelism, ELEVATE! Your Limits, ELEVATE! Your GPA, ELEVATE! Your Relationship With God and ELEVATE! Your Dating Reputation! Afterwards, we had what was called The Hunger Games as Miguel Mendez led everyone in a Human Foosball Tournament and Capture the Flag – the winners got to end their "hunger" and eat first for dinner!
During his morning quiet time, Miguel readies
himself to lead The Hunger Games!
The Brothers are practicing for The Human
Raquel (Rocky) Valadez dominating the
Brothers in Human Foosball!
After dinner, the evening session was hallmarked by the our future Sydney Mission Team Campus Minister – Mason Fetelika. He stirred our hearts and called us to ELEVATE! And See What God Sees! We then broke up into our regions and had a Time of Confession.
Mason's stirring rhetoric ELEVATES the faith of
the disciples that we will go to all nations!
Our Sunday Worship Service had so many highlights! Nathalie Fetelika shared for communion and brought many to tears as she came to the realization just how much God has given her through her marriage and how we all need to be more grateful for our marriage to Christ through the Cross! Curtis Valdez called us to ELEVATE! Our Contribution as we've been called to evangelize the world in our generation! As well, Carl Buckner from Orange County rapped his debut album song, Power. Then I had the privilege of preaching the final sermon, entitled ELEVATE! Higher Than You've Ever Been! Until the lesson, unbeknown to the Campus Ministry, the largest mountain in the world is actually, the Kingdom of God! (Daniel 2:35)
There was no better way to end our retreat than with seeing souls added to God's Kingdom as Coral, Keonte and Reggie were baptized in the chilling waters of the onsite pool! Thanks for all of your prayers!
The three baptisms at the Campus Retreat – Keonte,
Coral and Reggie – were the perfect ending to
this mountain top experience!
Sharon Kirchner: Greeting from the West Region! This week was so exciting to see Stephanie Collymore baptized on Wednesday night immediately after our Women's Marrieds Midweek! She is the mother of Dacosta, who helps lead the Santa Monica College Ministry! Because of her decision all three of her daughters want to start studying the Bible!
Dacosta's mom Stephanie is congratulated on her
baptism by her entire family!
We were also able to welcome this week a very dear sister Tsermaa Batsaikhan from the Washington DC Church! Tsermaa, who was baptized last August and is originally from Mongolia, will be interviewing for Dental School at UCLA and USC! We also had visiting with us this week our dear sister Angelica Grima from London, who is in town getting her British Visa approved. The West Region also had the privilege of worshiping with the Southland Region today since Tyler & Shay were out of town with the Campus Retreat. Cory preached an awesome message on prayer that really encouraged my soul!
Capil Marhatta: The Sensational Singles Ministry in the South strikes again! The Lord is moving powerfully and we are happy to be following His lead! Our dear brother, Steve Morici (ICCM student) & Andrew Nicholas – a four month old in the faith – have been building a great friendship with Steve's former co-worker (Ramiro Vasquez) from the Mazda-Lincoln Car Company. They linked up on Facebook a few months ago and Ramiro started checking out the awesome pictures of the Kingdom (many by Lesya who recently moved to Russia), and it sparked Ramiro's attention. Over time, Steve, Andrew and Ramiro began studying the Bible, and after a few months of examining the Scriptures Ramiro began to see God's sacred truths. After our Park Service today, Ramiro – an amazing single Dad with two sons – was baptized and now he has become a son of God!
The South Brothers and Sisters welcome
Ramiro to God's Family!
Kyle Bartholomew: Greetings from the Central Region! This week we were able to see Megan, a track athlete from Cal State Los Angeles, baptized into Christ!
Megan's story begins in the OC Region. Kiana Lindsey continually reached out to Megan's twin sister, Morgan, at Cal State Fullerton. Last week, Megan was visiting her sister and they both joined the OC disciples for Bible Talk, church, and started studying the Bible. Megan upon returning to Los Angeles, immediately called the disciples in the Central Region to continue studying the Bible. Megan met with the disciples on Monday, and after seeing that she needed to be baptized asked, "When can I get baptized?" She studied the Bible a total of 10 hours that day and became your sister at 2AM on Tuesday! Megan has since become one of our most enthusiastic and committed sisters in Christ!
The examples of the Sisters in the OC and Central
Regions inspire Megan to become
a sold-out disciple!
Victor Gonzalez of the East Region: Greetings from Las Vegas!! This week, my wife & I had the incredible privilege to fellowship and preach for our brothers and sisters in the Las Vegas International Christian Church! The zeal and love here in Las Vegas is exactly the same as the City of Angels Church! It is truly a privilege to be a part to a totally unified movement!
Back home in the East Region, we had two brothers baptized this week! Wyatt, a freshmen at Cal Poly Pomona, was baptized Tuesday night! Reggie, a freshmen at Mt. SAC, was baptized Sunday morning on top the mountain at our Campus Retreat!! This gives our Campus Ministry six additions (five baptisms and one restoration) in the past four weeks! Lastly, I'm very excited to announce that our very own newlyweds and Campus Leaders, Gabe & Stephanie Reed, are expecting a child!!!
"Spiritual Abuelo to be" Victor Gonzalez is
fired up about the Reeds expecting
their first child!
Ighodaro Odighizuwa: Very excitingly, this week God added Coral to the IE Family! Coral had to undergo heavy persecution as her parents tried to prevent her from coming to the Campus Retreat. However after reading Matthew 10:28, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell," Coral decided to fear God more than her parents and so she made the decision to come to the retreat, count the cost, and make Jesus Lord, and so today she was baptized! We love you all!
Coral is joined by the other IE Sisters and
together they issue the challenge,
"You will be next!"
HEADLINE NEWS – USA
NEWS FLASH – Julie Clark of Denver: "He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." (Proverbs 11:25) On Saturday, we had a church-wide MERCY Event to aid in relief for the flood victims in Milliken, Colorado, which was among the hardest hit during the flooding. Milliken is located almost an hour-and-a-half outside of Denver, and due to the distance, this small town has had a hard time getting volunteers to serve. Nevertheless, the Mighty Denver disciples were more than willing to go out of their way to refresh those in need! "God's mercy" was further evident as Mike Sanicola (a former insurance adjuster) is holding a meeting on Tuesday evening to help those who lost their homes fill out FEMA paperwork so they can get the funds they so desperately need to start again!
The Mighty Denver Disciples and their children travel
an hour and-a-half to Milliken as MERCY Volunteers!
Mike & Dena Sanicola invest their hearts in
aiding the distressed and displaced
residents of Milliken!
On Sunday, we had a phenomenal service as we had our largest attendance to date outside of our Inaugural Service – 69! It was so inspiring to see two more added to our number as Joe & Jolyn Ruybal placed membership! The Ruybals are a vibrant couple who have been disciples for more than 26 years in Denver! The Ruybals had their faith rekindled as they visited the ICC Churches in Hilo and Honolulu while they were on vacation, and the vibrancy of the worship ignited their hope of change! They began to pray that the ICC would plant a church in Denver as well! Their prayers were answered as they were personally invited to our Inaugural Service by Larry & Christy Wilson! They were so moved by the singing, zeal and heart of the Denver disciples that they began to attend our services every week!
Ignited in their faith and inspired to once again embrace the "sold-out" life, the Ruybals were faced with a very difficult decision. The decision to put years of relationships on the line in order to embrace God's plan to evangelize the world in our generation and to be part of a unified movement with a plan to reach "all nations." As their spiritual maturity and courage demanded they spoke to several of the leaders of our former fellowship to communicate the reasons for their decisions. It was made clear that they would be "put out of the synagogue" for their choices. (John 16:1-3) With much wrestling and considerable trust in God, they chose to love God above all else and are now in God's SoldOut Movement! We are honored to have them and inspired by their courage and willingness to dream again!
Joe & Jolyn Ruybal choose the praise of God
over the praise of men! (John 12:42-43)
Encouragingly, the Ruybals mark our 13th addition in 14 weeks which brings the Denver Church to 33 amazing disciples! To God be all the glory!
Jason Dimitry of Las Vegas: Good news from "the entertainment capital of the world!" God continues to take care of the Las Vegas Church in many ways. With the Campus Ministry away at the LA Retreat, it was great to spend the weekend with some of our dearest friends in the Lord, Vic & Sonia Gonzalez! In keeping with the custom here, we took them to our favorite buffet, the cranking "French Market Buffet" at The Orleans Casino! After a pleasant evening of sharing our hearts and thoughts about God and His Kingdom, it was an honor to have Vic preach the next morning! His lesson entitled Living To Please God called all of us higher to live up to the identity we have already received as disciples of Jesus Christ!
At some point as a missionary you will become
"overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of
death!" Well the buffet at The Orleans
definitely is not that point!
Lastly, we closed out our service with the restoration of our dear sister Nayeesha Heinz! Nayeesha was baptized in 1996 in Cory Blackwell's South Central Ministry. Back then she lead a fruitful Bible Talk for women with non-Christian husbands called "Sarah's Daughters!" It's amazing to see this humble "veteran" come back to the Lord with a zealous heart that's ready to do the Lord's work! As always, to God be every last bit of glory!
Nayeesha solemnly listens to the Scriptures as
she is restored to the Father!
Ron Harding of Washington DC: "All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:15-18)
Greetings from the Capital of the United States where the people of our city are anxious and losing hope! For example this past week, one woman who rammed into the barriers of the White House and the Capital Building was shot by police who were still working even though they weren't being paid! Another man literally set himself on fire at the National Mall! Still another indication of this dark despair was the death on the metro NOT being investigated because the investigators are off as a result of the shutdown! Sadly, some government workers who were already furloughed are now turning to soup kitchens to eat!
While the city is in turmoil, the disciples know that it is all for their benefit as many are using the government shutdown and their time off of work to come to Staff Meetings, to serve the church, to engage in deeper discipling, and to spend more time evangelizing the city during this nationwide crisis! It showed as we had a powerful service where we studied Acts 5, hitting on our financial vows to God with the story of Ananias & Sapphira. Encouragingly, the disciple responded by giving a whopping $6,800 which is $800 more than our average for September!
We all continue to be blown away by our Campus Ministry and the leadership of the Rangas as they continue to take Howard University by storm! Through their labors for the Lord, we were able to see the baptism of Chante! She is the second of Dao Henderson's close friends to be baptized since she was baptize nearly one month ago! It is an honor to serve such incredible disciples!
The Spirit raises Chante to her new life in Christ!
Maria Franklin of Chicago: "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions." (Joel 2:28) Last week, we had the privilege of driving to Toronto, Canada to encourage Harvey & Nanette Weber.
This courageous couple has been "Skyping" into our services for the past several months. They have been deeply saddened with the state of what’s left of the ICOC in Canada and left the Toronto Congregation almost a year ago. However, they still dream for God's Kingdom to shine brightly in Canada, and it was with this faith that they contacted Kip on Facebook a few months ago! It was an honor for us to encourage and serve them along with their wonderful family this past weekend. We were also able to get with a few others to discuss future plans to begin the Toronto Remnant Group!
The Webers (far left), their sons and granddaughter
are encouraged by the visit of the
Shelbracks and the Franklins!
This weekend, the Marrieds were delighted to spend time with our beloved spouses learning how to be Immeasurably More for God through our marriages. The retreat consisted of powerful lessons on submission and love, a delightful dinner and amazing dance party with creative games. A very special thank you to the City of Angels International Christian Church for gracing us with Argo & Anu Arneson as our guest speakers for the retreat and church today!
Argo & Anu take their awesome daughter Ann
Cathrine with them to Chicago!
Back in Chicago, the Bank of America Marathon captivated the city. Among the 40,230 participants, our very own Paulina Garcia, Jed Surio and Dustin Miller powerfully finished the 26.2 mile (42.2 km) race course! As a result of so many streets being closed down during the morning, church was held at 2PM today!
Inspirationally, Dustin, Paulina and Jed all
finish the Chicago Marathon!
This amazing day was closed with the moving West Region Campus baptism of Teara – a student at Triton College! Amazingly, I had shared with Teara on the bus earlier this year and obtained her phone number. When she got off the bus, she dropped her phone and the bus ran over it, so we were not able to connect with her then! God aggressively sought after her as several months later, while on a lunch break at the mall, she approached our wonderful sister Amber and asked her for the time. Amber then seized the opportunity and reached out to her! Then later that week they ran into each other at Triton College and began to study the Bible. Our God truly determines the times and places! The church was uplifted as she shared with gratitude and tears for her salvation!
In spite of Satanic attacks, Teara joyfully
enters the Kingdom of Light!
Jay Hernandez of Hilo: Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! This week we saw not one baptism but two! Wednesday, we witnessed hope being restored to a man who had come here, in his own words, to die! Paul Parker was diagnosed with cancer and decided he would move someplace to enjoy the last days of his life. However, our God had other plans! Eventually, he was able to get treatment for his cancer, but still lived a hopeless life until one day in McDonalds our sister Maile reached out to him and invited him to Bible Talk! Wednesday, Paul was baptized as he found hope in Jesus!
Then today, we witnesses a young freshman at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, Arrion, come to the waters of baptism to regain his hope in life! A few years ago, Arrion went through a very difficult time in his life, so difficult in fact that unknown to anyone else around him, he was seriously considering killing himself. He shared just before he was baptized how God kept speaking to his heart during these troubling times that there was a better future in store for him. With tears in his eyes, he was baptized in the beautiful Pacific Ocean today! This one Campus Bible Talk of five disciples has now seen four of their friends baptized in the first seven weeks of school!
Arrion is thrilled to have eternal life thanks
to the help of Aukai and Loa'a!
Finally, a small note: This Wednesday, we will be starting a radio program through the UH-Hilo Radio Station. Our intern Loa'a Pine ("DJ 180"), myself, and one of our newest brothers Robert will be on air from 6AM to 8AM Hawaiian time! You can check us out at (www.radio.uhh.hawaii.edu or Radio Flag (ihilo) on your phones) playing encouraging music for your souls! Call us if you have a request! We love you with all our hearts!
Brian Carr: Greetings from the great city of Boston! We had an incredible weekend in Onset, Massachusetts as the Campus Ministries from Boston and NYC came together for our 2013 Campus Retreat entitled, Hidden Treasure! With many fiery lessons, we saw from the Scriptures how special the Kingdom of God is and how amazing it is to be part of God's Family here on earth!
As we cherished our God, we also cherished our time with one another and had many fun activities! One in particular was the "Jesus Challenge" where we cheered one another on to "move a mountain" with the rock throwing competition; to "Carry Your Cross" by carrying a 100lb log on our backs for over 100 yards and then to hang for three minutes and pull ourselves up! As many of us reached the point of exhaustion, we gained a deeper appreciation of Christ’s love as He never gave up for us!
Sergio, a student at CCNY, is learning
to carry his cross!
A special thanks to Coltin & Mandee for organizing such an inspiring and memorable weekend! We're so grateful to have them as our Evangelist and Women's Ministry Leader!
Coltin & Mandee have taken a bold stand at
Northeastern University, which is only
one block from their home!
Andrew Smellie of New York City: "Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31) Greetings from the "soaring" disciples of New York City! This weekend was a time for renewal and inspiration as almost 30 NYC campus disciples and friends joined our dear brothers and sisters from the Boston Church for our Campus Retreat!
Back in the "concrete jungle" of New York City, our Singles Ministry Intern, Joshua Koralek, preached his best sermon to date, entitled, Called Out Of The Ordinary! His message was a powerful admonition to leave the "ordinary" and "empty life" of this world and become extraordinary for the Lord! Please pray for us in New York City as one of the ways we are preparing to crank out our Thanksgiving Missions is by a fundraising campaign that involves walking the entire length of Manhattan (13.4 miles) – from the Brooklyn Bridge to Battery Tunnel – on November 2nd! Our theme is Walking The Narrow Way On Broadway! No matter the secular financial challenges of the hour, God's Kingdom cannot be stopped! We love you!
Matt Sullivan of Orlando: "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." (2 Timothy 3:12) After more than a week of persecution, false doctrine and even a few falling away, God has given us great victories as we bonded together and found security in the shadow of God's wings! The more you preach the more likely you are to face difficulties and attacks from Satan! YET, what an amazing week as Laura was baptized on Thursday, and today at Barnett Park in Orlando, the OICC hosted a 5K Race, a Three Mile Walk-A-Thon, and an International Day in one epic worship service! We are hot on the trail to raise $60K for our Special Contribution coming up on November 24th! Finishing the day was the buffet from 18 different countries!
Later Sunday evening, Devan Gleason was baptized into the Lord! This event helped raise over $4,200 towards Special Missions, with more money coming in each day! Our God is Awesome!
Despite heavy persecution, the Orlando Brothers
continue to forcefully advance the
Kingdom by baptizing Devan!
Coleen Challinor of Portland: Greetings from the City of Bridges! The Lord has been working powerfully this week as its only been the second week of school and the Campus Ministry of only nine disciples has over 30 personal Bible studies! God has been training us as we have been "exhausted for the Lord" but there is no better feeling! (1 Thessalonians 2:8)
This Sunday, we had an incredible combined Spanish and English Service since we have been able to buy translation equipment for the Latin Ministry. It was so cool to see the Latin disciples sitting in between the English disciples up front and all around, because God has given us this special blessing!
Also today, we had one who was restored to the Lord, Linda Gonzalez – the wife of Carlos Gonzalez! Linda was the first single woman I helped baptize last summer. Over time Satan stole her out of the Kingdom. Since then she became pregnant, was kicked out of her home, had no job or income, and was bouncing around from house to house! It was powerful to hear Linda humbly share about how God had to bring her to her lowest to see how badly she needed him! What an incredible view to see how the church rallied together to bring one of our own back to the Lord! Truly the angels are rejoicing in Heaven! Please keep us in your prayers as we glean the Lord's harvest this Fall!
The Portland Sisters welcome back Linda (second
from the left) with open arms!
Mike Underhill of San Francisco: "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." (Ecclesiastes 4:12) This past weekend, we held our first Campus/Teen Retreat in the awesome Redwood Forests of Santa Cruz! The theme was A Cord Of Three Strands and so we focused on strength through unity – with God and each other! Aside from learning unity by trying to find a campground in the middle of nowhere, we had an incredibly fun time of cooking, laughing and a ton of inspiration through lessons, awesome d-groups and prayer walks in the Redwoods!
The San Francisco Bay Campus Retreat – A Cord
Of Three Strands!
To top it all off, we ended the retreat by going to a watering hole and seeing an amazing student from SFSU, Roberto, make the decision to be united with God and His church when he was BAPTIZED! Right after the baptism Roberto, myself and some of the other guys celebrated by rope swinging into the same water spring with the Campus and Teens cheering us on! Keep us in your prayers!
At his baptism, Roberto joins the
SFB Band of Brothers!
"That sounded like Tarzan…
but it was only Mike!"
HEADLINE NEWS – INTERNATIONAL
NEWS FLASH – Blaise Feumba, the Overseeing Evangelist of Haiti: "I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in Heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." (Luke 15:7) I am so proud of Alexis and the disciples in Haiti as they continue to work hard to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ! In spite of all the hardships they are going through to make a living, the Kingdom of God and its advancement is their priority!
Excitingly, this week I received an email from a preacher in the "Christian Church" (Restoration Movement) that I did not have a chance to visit during my trip last month due to my busy schedule. We spoke on the phone and I promised to get with him at my next trip, Lord willing! He leads a congregation of 80 members in the city of Jacmel, an hour away from Port-au-Prince and he wants to get together to study the Bible because of all he has heard that is going on in the SoldOut Movement in Haiti!
This week, the Lord added two more sisters GENITE DORILAS and WILMAS JOSEPH to the churches, respectively in Port-au-Prince and Chantal. Please be praying for several others who are moving closer to the waters of baptism and for the Lord to provide the churches in Haiti with high speed connection computers and cameras to give them the ability to send us great pictures of what God is doing among them! To God be all the glory!
Genite Dorilas of Port-au-Prince genuinely embraces
the call of Jesus to be His sold-out disciple!
NEWS FLASH – Michael Hart and Menno Zoutendijk in Amsterdam: We are inspired and humbled by how the Holy Spirit is working in Amsterdam! Last Sunday, six disciples had 12 visitors out to church, but the highlight of our Sunday service was our dear brother Arni Sicar being restored to God's Kingdom!
Arni (second from the right) puts on his spiritual
armor again and is ready to fight side by
side with his brothers!
Arni is a world class scientist who was a church leader in the Philippines in our former movement! For work reasons, Arni and his wife moved to the Netherlands but in 2006 both fell away from the Lord. A few months ago, Arni began praying and fasting to be restored to God. Then just a few weeks after the Amsterdam ICC was started, Arni called Menno and told him that he had hit rock bottom because of his disobedience to God and wanted to come back!
He visited Menno at church and to Arni's surprise he learned that he was visiting God's new movement! Arni then decided to call one of his dear friends who he knew from our former fellowship in the Philippines, who was none other than our brother John Malnegro – who leads the Metro Manila SoldOut Movement Remnant Group! Needless to say, John put his heart at ease and after about two weeks of studying the Bible, Arni was restored! His two teenage daughters were present and very encouraged about their dad's changes!
Arni's daughters are so inspired by the
radical changes in his life!
Arni already has a fellow colleague and scientist, Wouter, studying the Bible! So, in less than two months, the Amsterdam ICC has grown from four faithful disciples to seven disciples zealously and joyfully preaching the Word!
Carlos Mejia: Greetings from Santiago! Our Sunday service was on fire as we began with our powerful evangelist/song leader, Jared McGee moving our hearts with heartfelt and inspiring singing to God! We ended our worship service with an amazing baptism as we witnessed Johanna being added to God's Kingdom! This young Peruvian national has an amazing heart for God and is the second personal fruit of an awesome sister named Aimee, who was baptized only a few short months ago! With the addition of Johanna, God continues to put the pieces together, forming future mission teams in this truly international church, boasting 16 nations with a membership of just 115! Please continue to pray for the international harvest of souls in South America!
Our precious new sister – Johanna!
We also ask for your prayers for our upcoming Women's Day this next Saturday, October 19th! We are all grateful for our incredible guest speaker Lynda Moreno who is scheduled to arrive this Friday! Lynda is an incredible, wife, mother, missionary and Women's Ministry Leader who served the Santiago ICOC Church for many years with great valor and dignity! I can think of no one better to come and speak to the women of Santiago about Las Promesas De Dios (The Promises of God) than this great heroine in the faith!
The Santiago Women's Day –
The Promises of God!
Vic Gonzalez Jr.: Greetings from the plentiful harvest field of Mexico City! Today we celebrated our One Year Anniversary! This last week, we were able to witness the "re-birth" of Charly and his wife Karime as they were baptized into Christ! Charly & Karime are but two of the 113 million lost people who live within Mexico's 31 states!
God celebrates Mexico City's One Year Anniversary
with the baptisms of Charly & Karime!
I am so proud of my wife Aurora! She has been the kids' homeschool teacher, Mexico City's Women's Ministry Leader, an incredible wife, an awesome mom, and a cranking disciple! She is truly an example of "grit and sacrifice" meeting with Karime at 7AM to accommodate Karime's challenging schedule, and then often meeting late night with another couple of girls! Please pray as we are working tirelessly to harvest souls in this amazing city – "El DF"! Much love and a big hug from your Mexico City Familia!
Philippe Scheidecker: Bonjour de Paris! God blessed us with a sunny Sunday in spite the cold that announces the Winter! I would like to lift up our dear sister Monica Vasquez! Not only has she adapted quickly to Paris and the area, but God blessed her with a part time job as an English teacher! Also encouragingly, Monica immediately volunteered to run the Kingdom Kids Class on Sundays! Our children are delighted, even Theo who is rather distant and 'savage' with the sisters…. But Monica, who has so much experience, was able to reach his heart!
Our gallant sister Monica embraces the
Scheidecker children – Théo
With 300 new contacts from our Speed Of Light Campaign, "the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest fields!" (Matthew 9:37-38) Yes, please pray that many of those contacted will have an open heart to surrender to God and join us in His noble quest!
Tamru Belihu of Addis Ababa: Greetings from the Ethiopia International Christian Church! Yesterday we had an awesome time! We had two baptisms who were studying for about one month and-a-half! One brother promised when he was baptized to work on his family, so one of the baptisms is his fruit from his family! Excitingly, the new brother promised the same thing! Please keep us in your prayers!
Kia Pope of London: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven." (Matthew 18:3) Our new sister, Janice Manu, who recently graduated from the University of Aston with a Bachelor's in Management and Strategy, was saved through the waters of baptism after our Campus Devotional on Friday night! Janice was first met by Miriam, the eight year old little sister of our campus sister Kenny! Kenny, who was only baptized three months ago, has faithfully brought out her younger sister to every church service hoping to plant seeds of faith in her heart.
Almost a month ago Kenny and Miriam were at the mall and Miriam approached Janice asking her point blank if she would like to come to church with her! Janice who had been praying and searching for a church was so moved by Miriam's boldness, that she gladly exchanged details with Kenny! During her testimony at our Friday Devo in the presence of her three visitors, Janice expressed her gratitude for Miriam and Kenny's faith, as well as those who serve in our Kids Kingdom, reminding us all of the importance of having child-like hearts!
Janice (left) and Kenny, who met her, imitate the IE
Sisters in proclaiming, "You will be next!"
University has just started back here, and in the past two weeks the campus disciples have been faithfully sharing at three different campus "Freshers Fairs!" God has been showing that the harvest is indeed plentiful by blessing us with 400 contacts! Please be praying as we follow up with each precious soul!
We had a great Sunday with 138 in attendance! As Michael Williamson was in Kiev, Blaise Feumba preached an inspiring sermon on Our Glorious Riches In Christ! Looking forward to seeing you at the 2013 European Missions Conference!
The electrifying Evangelist – Blaise Feumba – will
be preaching at the EMC!
Eugen Sobolov of Kiev: Last weekend, God made a present for the Kiev International Christian Church – the visit of our dear brother from London – Michael Williamson! Michael arrived on Friday night and immediately went into the devo where the whole church gathered! We are so grateful for the incredible lesson of David and Goliath! On Saturday morning at the Bible Talk Leaders Meeting, we were able to hear really precious lesson about being always joyful – and even Novosibirsk, Russia joined us by Skype to hear the lesson and share the comments!
Saturday night, we could immediately implement this teaching because the whole church and the visitors gathered for a "Sports Party!" All disciples – even my wife – wore sweat suites and participated in sports contests! But the highlight was on Sunday, when the church could heard the incredible lesson, The Great Church!
By the way at this moment, we have our own "Goliath" which is called the "UK Visa!" Although 13 disciples were refused last week, we will keep fighting to get to the EMC! This week, all of us will apply again with prayer and fasting! Please keep us in your prayers! And to God be the glory!
Tim Kernan: Greetings from Chennai, India! Thank you for all your prayers for the safety of the church as "Super Cyclone" Phailin roared in off the Bay of Bengal this week with winds of up to 135 mph! Thankfully it came ashore 500 miles north of Chennai! Heroically, the Indian Army, Coast Guard and Police Forces began a massive evacuation effort which avoided another tragedy like the Cyclone in 1999 which killed over ten thousand people in the same area! In its wake, Phailin left 25 killed and tens of thousands of homes, businesses and farm land destroyed! Please continue to pray for the survivors!
The East Coast of India begins to be hit by
the "Super Cyclone" Phailin!
One million people are evacuated by the authorities
from the path of Cyclone Phailin!
I reflected this week that just as Super Cyclone Phailin was tearing through the air destroying and wreaking havoc, so the "Super Cyclone Satan" is tearing through the whole world! In our modern era of communication the message of Satan's lies and deception come at us every day in so many ways. As disciples with the Scriptures in hand, we have "divine power to demolish" these lies and deceptions wherever we find them! (2 Corinthians 10:4) One of the most effective means of communication in the modern era is the Internet, and Satan has used it quite effectively to spread so much false doctrine, darkness and sin here in India! This week, the disciples of the Chennai Church urgently worked to reverse the flow of Satan's ownership of the airwaves! First of all, we were delighted to see the appointment of Denny Paul as WebDeacon, who is such a dear brother to so many of us!
The Chennai Brothers fully support Denny (red shirt)
as the first WebDeacon of India!
Secondly, I want to thank the disciples worldwide for the dozens of replies we received to our "Email Pals" Campaign to better connect the Chennai Church with the rest of the movement! One sister was in tears and she shared how special she felt that five disciples from outside of India had emailed her so warmly and so quickly!
The Chennai Campus Disciples are hungry to build
"Email Pal" relationships with disciples
throughout the SoldOut Movement!
Thirdly, because some disciples can't have email pals because they cannot access email the movement sent them a message of love and fellowship another way! I want to thank Kip & Elena our dear movement leaders, Chris & Theresa of the OC, Andrew & Patrique of New York City, Matt & Helen of Orlando, Micheal & Sharon of LA, Raul & Lynda of Sao Paulo, Ron & Tracy of Washington DC, Philippe & Prisca of Paris, Jason & Sarah of Las Vegas, Joel & Courtney of Syracuse, Ricky & Coleen of Portland, and of course, Luke & Brandon of LA, who are the Overseers of India, who wrote touching greetings that were read to the whole church on Sunday! Everyone felt the love of God’s awesome movement and there wasn't a dry eye in the house, and everyone had a "perma grin" from the joy they felt! Thank you to everyone!
Fourth and lastly, we have been making videos to help people better understand the amazing way of life here in India. The most recent video is at: http://youtu.be/nILVU21K8ls
Junior Kernan (right) and his new friends in
Chennai send greetings to all the churches!
Please pray for our trip this week of 2,100 km (1,300 miles) to visit and encourage our awesome remnant group in New Delhi with a delegation of Chennai Leaders!
Dear Brothers and Sisters: Please continue to pray (and register) for the European Missions Conference to be held in London on November 7-10, 2013!
The 2013 EMC – GOD ALMIGHTY REIGNS!
Immediately following the seminar, Oleg & Aliona Sirotkin and Elena & I will fly to Moscow. Then, Lord willing on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, our Russian-speaking disciples will gather from Kiev, Minsk, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and of course Moscow! If anyone knows of remnant disciples that would be interested in this historic occasion, please contact Oleg at: ICC.Oleg.Sirotkin@gmail.com or 562-394-3622.
In closing, let us pray for each other the blessing of Moses on the Israelites, "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26) And to God be all the glory! Amen!
